What’s happened to the weather?………. we were so lucky over the Easter holidays. Let’s hope the April showers will end soon. Just a few notices for this term.
There are auditions for Associates and Scholars on Sunday 8th June, where by children can audition if they have passed Grade 2 and above with 70% or more. The Associates run once a month on Sundays at The Rambert School in Twickenham where they will have a ballet class and an additional class in Mime, Repertoire, Character, Irish,Spanish, Jazz, Musical Theatre or other dance forms. The Scholars are every week and must have their Grade 4 Ballet & above. If your child may be interested please ask your teacher or download a form from the website. Closing date is Tuesday 6th May.
The Summer term is always a busy term… the children are off for Residentials with their schools, as well as illnesses we are aware that problems that can arise so please let us know by email or phone if your child will be absent from class. We hope all the relevant exam children have had all their paperwork as Exam Rehearsals are starting shortly. We have changed the timetable slightly on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Modern & Tap to increase the Senior Tap Classes so please check you have the right times. The venue for the Modern & Tap Exam rehearsals on Saturdays has now been changed to St. Polycarps School, Waverley Lane, Farnham. We will be using the main hall and provisionally having our Modern & Tap Exams there from now onwards. A reminder will be handed out to all the children taking part this term so check with your teacher if your child does not receive it.
We have our Demeric Hoodies on the way hopefully by next week so orders can now be taken. Children”s Hoodies will be £22.00 (S/M/L) and Adult sizes will £25.00 (S/M). A picture will on all the notice boards and on the website shortly. If you have any queries regarding uniform please check with your teacher and fill our a uniform order. All orders will not be accepted without payment.
Regarding Adult Classes, we have had some requests for Adult Ballet classes during the day. We were hoping to add an Adult Ballet class either on a Monday or Wednesday lunchtime .We also may be adding an Adult Tap class in the evening again either on Tuesday or Thursday evening? If you are interested please let us know as we may be able to start after half term depending on the amount of interest we receive.
Which leads me to remind you that in our Tap Classes we will gradually be working towards our “Tapathon “ Routine for the “Children in Need”. I now have the notes and have booked the venue for Sunday 16th November 2014 so all we need to do is start having fun and keep practicing!!
We had a great Easter Dance Workshop which the children thoroughly enjoyed. Can I remind any parents if you have any photos please pass them on as it would great to add them to the website. Our next Summer Dance Workshop will be Wednesday 27th, Thursday 28th & Friday 29th August.
And lastly we hope to renew some of the Ballet Barres we have. We would like to have a Mufti week running on Monday 19th – Friday 23rd May. Any coloured tutus, fairy dresses or bright coloured dance clothing can be worn. Adults feel free to come dressed for your classes too!!! There will be a charge of £1.00 per person for the week so if you attend more than one class then it still be only be a £1. Please pay it to your class teacher.
